Paraguay Achieves Record Export Diversification in 2024
Paraguay achieved a significant milestone in 2024, exporting 55 locally produced goods to over 40 countries across various continents. From beef to aluminum scrap, these exports totaled more than USD 28 million, showcasing the quality and competitiveness of Paraguayan products in international markets.
According to the Intelligence Directorate of Rediex, Paraguayan exports in 2024 surpassed international standards, breaking into new markets. Products included ethanol, rice, cotton, soybean oil, biodiesel, organic fertilizers, glycerin, peanuts, and industrial goods such as steel billets and electrical conductors.
Spain emerged as the leading European importer, purchasing USD 12 million worth of ethanol, as well as transportation components, electrical compensators, and cotton. The United Kingdom imported USD 3 million in biodiesel, while Germany bought glycerin and plywood.
In the Americas, key allies included the United States, Mexico, and Uruguay. Notable exports included rice and soybean oil to the Caribbean, beef to Puerto Rico, and various industrial and agricultural goods to neighboring countries like Brazil, Argentina, and Peru.
In Asia, Paraguay strengthened trade ties with Cambodia and Vietnam through exports of offal and copper scrap. Singapore also became a new market for aluminum scrap, highlighting growing opportunities in the region.
Africa joined Paraguay’s trade network with peanut exports to Algeria and Libya. Paraguayan products also entered new markets such as Oman, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Guatemala, Switzerland, Belgium, Romania, the Netherlands, and Albania, among others.

These achievements diversify Paraguay’s export offerings and solidify its position as a competitive player in global trade. The inclusion of industrial, agricultural, and energy products demonstrates the country’s ability to meet the demands of increasingly sophisticated markets.
By adopting international standards and diversifying its exports, Paraguay strengthens its reputation as a reliable and adaptable supplier. These accomplishments not only boost the nation’s economic impact but also enhance its standing in the global market.
